Preparing for a Hurricane

Tips to prepare for a hurricane:
- Make sure your humans have plenty of treats on hand for snacking while it rains and the winds come. I like the peanut butter ones best.
- Have Rescue Remedy stocked -it’s easier than any prescription medicine because it really works without dehydrating you.
- Secure your toys. I emptied out the toy box and piled them safely in my crate. I also included all the fleece dog beds just to be sure.
- Check the weather. The constant rain and wind seems to trigger the need to go outside, so make sure your folks have their raincoats on and you have your reflective collar and leash too!
- Look for downed power lines. If it’s all okay, then splash in all the water.
- Read the new message boards that have dropped down onto the ground. Even squirrels have interesting notes to read and answer.
- Let your folks dry you off when you come back in, but be sure to shake really really good after getting a towel rub.
- Sleep with your mom and dad. It’s safer and you get a better sleep - even if the winds are raging outside.
